Our instructors have successfully taught students from 3 years old to 86 years old! Our goal is give the musical items and exercises to get the student MAKING MUSIC as soon as possible. It does take effort from the student but you will save time and money by using our professional instructors because we have proven methods from many years of experience as musicians/instructors.

Rico Monaco (founder of Ricmon Music School); started his music instruction business over 27 years ago and is an award winning musician that has led his band to shows with national artists in cities around the globe. He is now using his expertise as an instructor/musical director/producer/songwriter, contacts, methods and organizational skills to offer instruction for all instruments. His roster includes top-notch professional instructors/musicians.

Music is essential in this world. Music makes the world go ’round!

It takes lots of work developing your skills to become a great musician but you have to put just as much work on becoming a great music instructor to become a great teacher.  There are great musicians everywhere, just go on YouTube and you can find them of all ages, but that does not mean they can teach what they know in any way.   Unfortunately, some instructors who are good musicians promote themselves as good instructors but they are not and don’t a professional plan or experience.  Every Ricmon Music School instructor is a professional and works just as hard at teaching music as they do playing music.

“You have to be a great musician to be a great teacher; but not every great musician is a great instructor.”

YouTube and Google provide great tools for all aspiring musicians but it can be overwhelming trying to learn on your own online or from YouTube videos or streaming lessons. Of course, private instruction is expensive but if you have the proper instructor, you will have a much better chance, BY FAR, at achieving your goals as a musician. How many times have you tried to cut corners to save money and ended up more frustrated, wasting valuable time, and had to actually spend more money in the end. Think of any job you have done at your house or on your car. Our most valuable asset in life is, TIME. Why waste time trying to save some money? Obviously, it’s smart to try to save money for your family. But if you want to become a good musician or even a great musician, how valuable is the proper instruction? And how valuable is instruction that will get you there as fast as possible with some effort on your part? One of the most common compliments our instructors have heard is, “I have learned and progressed more with you in 3 months than I did with my old teacher in 2 years!”

Our instructors have worked very hard developing their teaching methods and we do our very best to give students what they need to build a solid musical foundation. We create a Daily Lesson Plan based on music theory. In this daily workout the student develops the skills-techniques (coordination with the brain, strength, flexibility, speed in the hands, legs, arms, lungs, lip, etc.) and necessary knowledge about music theory and how it relates to their chosen instrument.

We have some of the best musicians that are also instructors in the Central Florida area with real world experience as high-level professional performers. They have performed on some of the biggest stages around the world with national acts! They share and use their experience as an instructor, on stage, and in the studio with the student. They focus on the goals of the student and show them how to become proficient as quick as possible, giving the student only what they need to become a musician and make music. The goal is always to play songs using the tools and the musical foundation we build for the student. We build this Musical Foundation for the student, give them the tools, and they have to build the house. In other words, they have to put in the time on their own playing and going over these items for at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week to see good progress. If they go over the Daily Lesson Plan more than the 30 minute/5 day recommendation they will see more progress. Our job is to give you what you need to become a musician on your chosen instrument, motivate you best we can, and YOU must build the house by going over the Daily Lesson Plan. Our lessons are the vehicle to get you where you want to go as quickly as possible. But we won’t lie to you; it does take a good amount of time to become a decent musician. Think about it: anything valuable in life takes time. Why waste time doing things that don’t get you were you want to go. If we have learned anything in the Era of the C-19 Pandemic; it is that time is valuable and you should spend your time doing things you LOVE. We LOVE music and we know many of you do as well. We share our love for music, introduce you to great music by the most legendary musicians in history, and want our students to BE HAPPY having fun learning their instrument.

Ricmon Music School also will begin offering Rock Band lessons where students learn a group of songs and are produced by a professional musical director on how to play together a as unit/band. One of the biggest challenges we see for our students is that they want to play music with other people but don’t have the time or ability to find other musicians to play with. We will provide the “band members” who will be other students or others for you to play with; that are also close to your level and we will TEACH you how to play together.

Our experienced Musical Directors have the knowledge to help develop the skills to play music in a band format. There are valuable time saving techniques that will get you playing like a pro musician much faster than if you try to do it on your own without professional assistance. We know this because most of us did it with our professional assistance and we wasted years not having a pro directing us.

Example: Rico Monaco produced and directed a 4-piece band of 10 and 11 year olds for a school talent show. Two of them were his guitar/music students. They performed before a large audience for a talent show at St. James Catholic School in Orlando.  They performed before a band of 8th graders that featured 13 and 14 year olds. In only 4 rehearsals they blew away the 8th grade student band.  The parents were ecstatic about their progress and amazed at what Rico was able to accomplish in a short period of time.  Of course, it took a big effort on the students and parents part too. And it was an experience none of them will ever forget including the parents. How valuable is that as a life experience? It is extremely valuable to play with others and learn from a pro music director in a band situation if your goal is to become a better musician and/or performer.  When you play with others, you will be applying the techniques, knowledge and skills that you are developing with your private instructor. It’s the absolute best way to become a better musician, by far.

Here is an analogy:

The difference is similar to learning a language in school and studying the grammar for a couple years. BUT then you travel to a country where they speak that language, stay there for a long period of time, and having to USE what you studied to communicate with the people. You will become much more FLUENT in the language.  This is very similar to your learning the language of MUSIC.  Rock Band lessons are very beneficial for those interested in playing in a band type format. Plus, it really is the most FUN you can have as a musician, playing music with others! You will develop new skills that you only can learn when you play with others. It will motivate you, help you gain vital confidence, and prepare you for performing in front of an audience.

Remember the acronym from Rico Monaco’s Passion Theory Guitar Method: R.M.A.C.I.

  • Repetition,
  • Memorization,
  • Automation (Application),
  • Creation, and ultimately
  • Improvisation.

If you Repeat the items in your Daily Lesson Plan, you will memorize the most important musical elements, then you will being to Automatically play what you are learning and Apply it, then you can use your knowledge/skills to Create music, and finally, if you work hard and study great musicians, you can start to Improvise which is like be a Samurai of your instrument. Also, after a period of rock band rehearsals, there will be a live performance showcase with an audience of family members and others. More information is coming…
